Humor is a common phenomenon in the daily interaction of many people; however, this study is particularly interested in humor as used by Kadie-Jolie. This seminar discovers that Kadie-Jolie comedies are characteristic of thematic issues of commodification of romance, racism, deception, corruption, moral decadence and the belief in superstitions. It must be noted that these issues are mostly used to show the major concerns of Kadi-Jolie comedy. The commodification of romance is to condemn commercialisation of romance, racism lambasts how racial discrimination is deployed in the comedies, corruption is portrayed as the bane of developed society, and belief in superstitions is African based. All these thematic issues are deeply rooted in African society and they show the rate of decadence of many African nations.
MODUPE BEATRICE ADEYINKA MUTIAT OLABISI JOKANOLA OLAYODE BABATUNDE AJAGBE Copyright (c) 2026 Ibadan Journal of European Studies 2026-06-29 2026-06-29 21 1 8 24 Southern Africa and Its Environment https://journals.ui.edu.ng/index.php/IJES/article/view/2296
Southern African has enriched our knowledge of human evolution. Biological remains from the region has not only threw light on the anatomy and behaviour of hominids but had also contributed in the understanding of the extinct and extant fauna.
