Peer Review
- Review Policy
Journal of Automotive Science and Engineering Technology uses Double-Blind Reviewing process. This means that the reviewer identities are concealed from the authors throughout the review process. Reviewers will not be influenced by the authors because reviewer anonymity allows for impartial
- Review Guidelines
- Purpose of Peer Review
The peer-review process ensures the quality, originality, and validity of published research. Reviewers play a critical role in maintaining the journal’s standards by providing constructive, unbiased, and timely feedback to authors.
- Review Process
- Reviewer Responsibilities
- Evaluate manuscript quality in terms of:
- Originality & Innovation – Does the work present novel contributions?
- Technical Soundness – Are methods, analysis, and results scientifically rigorous?
- Clarity & Organization – Is the paper well-structured and clearly written?
- Relevance to the Field – Does the work advance engineering knowledge?
- Check for ethical compliance (plagiarism, data fabrication, proper citations).
- Provide detailed, objective, and constructive feedback (avoid personal bias).
- Maintain confidentiality—do not share or discuss the manuscript with others.
- Submit the review within the deadline (typically 2-4 weeks).
- Review Criteria
Reviewers should assess the manuscript based on the following aspects:
- Technical Content
? Are the objectives clearly stated?
? Are the methods appropriate and well-described?
? Are results supported by sufficient data/analysis?
? Are conclusions justified and aligned with findings?
- Originality & Contribution
? Does the paper add new knowledge to the field?
? Is prior work properly cited and differentiated?
iii. Clarity & Presentation
? Is the paper well-organized (abstract, intro, methodology, results, discussion, references)?
? Are figures, tables, and equations clear and correctly labeled?
? Is the language grammatically correct and concise?
- Ethical Considerations
? Is the work free from plagiarism?
? Are conflicts of interest disclosed?
? Are data sources and funding properly acknowledged?
- Review Report Structure
Reviewers should provide:
- Summary of the Paper (Brief overview of the work).
- Major Strengths (What makes the paper valuable?).
- Major Weaknesses (Key issues that need improvement).
- Specific Recommendations (Accept / Minor Revisions / Major Revisions / Reject).
- Detailed Comments (Point-by-point feedback for authors).
- Decision Options
- Accept as Is (Rare; only if flawless).
- Minor Revisions (Small corrections needed).
- Major Revisions (Substantial changes required; re-review may be needed).
- Reject (If work is unsuitable due to flaws, lack of novelty, or poor quality).
- Confidentiality & Conflict of Interest
- Reviewers must not use unpublished data from the manuscript.
- If a conflict of interest exists (e.g., collaboration with authors, competitive work), reviewers should decline the review.
