Editorial Board Policy
- Role and Responsibilities of the Editorial Board
The Editorial Board of Tropical Animal Production Investigations plays a central role in upholding the academic quality, integrity, and relevance of the journal. Board members are selected based on their expertise, scholarly contributions, and commitment to advancing knowledge in tropical animal science.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manuscript Oversight: Assign reviewers, make editorial decisions, and ensure fair peer review processes.
- Quality Control: Uphold high scientific standards, detect potential ethical breaches, and recommend improvements.
- Content Development: Propose special issues, suggest timely topics, and support calls for papers in emerging areas.
- Promotion of the Journal: Encourage quality submissions, increase visibility, and help broaden readership and impact.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance to early-career researchers and reviewers when necessary.
- Composition and Appointment
- The board comprises the Editor-in-Chief, Associate Editors, and Advisory Editors.
- Members serve a renewable 3-year term, based on active participation and contribution.
- Appointments are made through nomination and approval by the Editor-in-Chief, in consultation with the publisher or governing committee.
- Ethical Expectations
Editorial Board Members must:
- Maintain confidentiality in all peer review and editorial matters.
- Declare conflicts of interest promptly.
- Refrain from making decisions on manuscripts in which they have a personal or professional conflict.
- Uphold COPE, ICMJE, and journal-specific ethical guidelines.
- Meetings and Communication
- Periodic virtual meetings may be held to review editorial performance, discuss strategic direction, and evaluate journal metrics.
- Editors are expected to respond to emails and manuscript assignments in a timely manner to avoid delays in publication.
- Performance Evaluation and Removal
The performance of Editorial Board members is reviewed regularly based on:
- Timeliness in handling assignments
- Quality of editorial feedback and decision-making
- Level of engagement with the journal’s goals
Non-performing members may be asked to step down to allow new contributors to join
